Award-Winning Tableware Turns Out to be a Real Gem

What a way to launch our blog by announcing that our new Amethyst tableware range has won the “Tabletop Product of the Year 2010″ in the Product of the Year Awards 2010 organised by Housewares Magazine. Let’s hope this is the start of a winning trend!

Embracing the Latest Trend

Some of the credit for this award must go to our in-house designer Sue Exton-Russell, whose desire to use rich purples with a glossy finish has coincided brilliantly with this season’s interior trend for deep and dominant tones.

Purple has been a prominent feature of catwalks for the last few years and is now translating into the home. Amethyst combines a key trend for mixing bold, rich colours with soft neutral ones. Our favourite pieces are the tea set with the round platter.

Hard Work Recognised by Award

Every piece of Amethyst is made in our factory in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside. To ensure the very best quality, we still use many of the traditional pottery techniques and each piece is individually decorated.  We are really proud of all our products and are delighted that this hard work has been recognised at the Product of the Year Awards 2010.

Amethyst only launched earlier this year, so if you haven’t seen it yet and would like to see more visit or go in store to selected Debenhams, John Lewis, House of Fraser and leading china and glass retailers around the country. Look out for our fantastic new range of matching glass that launched in April.

We’d love to know what you think of our new Amethyst collection…

Congratulations on the award. Purple is a fantastic colour and its great to see it being used here. Afternoon tea and cakes is making a comeback and with great products like these tea becomes much more of an occasion. Are any of your products in London department stores?

Hi there, I’ve just treated myself to the entire Amethyst range. I’m disappointed however to discover there is no coffee pot in the range…..are you planning on bringing one out?

      Hi Katrina,
      Thank you for your query.
There are no plans at the moment for an Amethyst coffee pot, however we will pass your comment on to our design team for consideration.
      Love Denby
